Eau de Toast

In the vein of extolling the wonders of bread, glorious bread, today’s fun fact is: during the 2013 London Fashion Week a perfume was released for the catwalk models to wear called ‘Eau de Toast’ which, as its title suggests, surrounded the wearer with the aroma of hot buttered toast.

eau de toastThe scent was designed to raise awareness for the Slice of Life campaign headed by the Federation of Bakers and the Flour Advisory Bureau (love that there is such a thing as a Flour Advisory Bureau), and to remind young women in particular that omitting bread, or breakfast altogether, from their diets isn’t beneficial to their health, and that bread in itself is not the carb-heavy monstrosity that people tend to associate with weight gain. Think I might go have a second breakfast then…
